Desert Cottontails At Lunch

Drawing - Colored Pencil
Description
I created this Prismacolor pencil drawing from photos I took of the Desert Cottontail rabbits that reside in our neighborhood. Here they are dining on the beautiful red fruit of the Prickly Pear cactus plants. Desert wildlife love this fruit that forms on the plants after the flowers have faded and dropped off. I included several desert plants in the background to create a typical Arizona desert setting. Saguaro cactus fill the background along with a cholla cactus and more Prickly Pear in the distance. This drawing would be a perfect addition to a child's bedroom, as well as any animal lover's decor.
