Description
The original acrylic of this scene was a commission piece as a wall mural that included a few personal items that are eliminated on this version. An Arizona desert scene was requested with lots of saguaro cacti along with other desert plants, including the agave, aloe vera, yucca, ocotillo, Santa Rita cactus, barrel cactus, globe mallow and hedgehog cactus that are in bloom. The red rock in the foreground sports petroglyphs in Navajo likeness portraying the owners journey to Arizona where they ended up in a village near the San Tan Mountains. Also in the foreground is a family of Gambel's Quail that are always seen running in the desert sand looking for something to eat. Gila woodpeckers have taken over the saguaro cactus on the right.
