Description
I took this photograph just a couple days after a big snow storm in Arizona in February 2013.
I would have loved to have seen the snow on the saguaro cacti.
If you don't go out immediately after a storm here in the desert,
the temperatures will rise just enough to melt the snow before
you can blink an eye.
The snow that is visible in the background, is on the mountain that
is known here as Four Peaks.
It is a well-known landmark in the Phoenix area and one that newcomers can
learn to recognize very quickly.
Four Peaks is part of the Mazatzal Mountain range and is slightly
under 8,000 feet in altitude. That is high enough to see snow
at least a couple times during each winter.
This view was taken from Usery Pass which is nearby to the Usery
Mountains.
