Light Through The Pass

Painting - Watercolor
Description
This is just an imaginary scene that evolved as the painting started to take shape, I was experimenting with different techniques of spraying water on the paint and trying to direct it where I wanted it to go! Each component in this painting, such as the birch trees and the mountain, emerged totally on their own. This type of painting requires lots of paint removal with various methods to create the sun rays along with the light on the lake. I was happy with the softness and peaceful feeling that this technique produced. It is a very challenging process but one that I will try again in the future.
