Description

This piece is an ink and watercolor painting of a typical Mexican village with a market day happening down the sloping brick and paved street. The market vendor is pushing his cart full of fresh lemons and shading them from the hot sun with his bright red umbrella. The streets are lined with bright, colorfully painted adobe houses that nearly all are adorned with a balcony. The skies over the buildings are a rainbow of colors with the papel picado or paper cutout banners streaming across the street from building to building. These always seen on special days or festivities such as Dia de Los Muertos or Day of The Dead and Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
