A mission church in the little village community of Guadalupe became my inspiration for this painting. We had driven past this tiny church many times before I stopped to get photos of it for future reference. The village is a Mexican-Indian community that is actually part of the Phoenix area. It is located in the foothills of South Mountain on the western side of the valley.
The spanish influenced architecture is one of my favorites and I have done several paintings reflecting that style. This piece was purchased by a local city councilman in Gilbert, Arizona.
