This commission piece was done for a very talented young man, off to college, with great hopes and dreams of some day appearing on the great Broadway stage. His faith and direction is indicated in the Bible verse, I.Peter, 4:10-11, which is just visible at the end of the street beneath the cross. The playbills in the foreground represent the plays that he has appeared in during his high school days. The large, colorful marquee signs indicate the shows he hopes will be part of his future in the theater.
