Description
Every springtime in the Arizona Sonoran Desert of the southwest the wildflowers explode like a carpet over the sandy desert. This scene was painted from a photograph taken by the artist, looking toward the Usery Mountains near Phoenix, Arizona. There are several areas you can stop at and enjoy this type of beauty. The palo verde tree is such a brilliant yellow-green as it is getting ready to burst with yellow flowers. This scene includes the yellow brittlebush, yellow-gold poppies, orange and pink globe mallow, purple and blue desert bells, phlox, lupine, and owl's clover. Can you find the yellow and gray Verdin?

The pointillism works so well in this painting that shows so beautifully these springtime desert blooms. vote
