This is an out of the way place, but it's very peaceful. You can hire a jeep and guide, or a horse and guide, or a hiking guide to walk/photograph the canyon, and there are "bus" tours, 4wd trucks outfitted as buses and called, humorously, "the shake and bake".

The legend of Spider Rock: It's the legendary home of Spider Woman Spider Woman sent Monster-Slayer and Child-Born-Of-Water to find, Sun-God, their father, who taught them how to destroy the monsters. She taught the Dine (Navajo) the art of weaving, and is highly honored for this important gift. She also is a source of discipline of children. She carries disobedient children to the top of spider rock and eats them, turning the rocks at the top are white with their bones.

Interesting legend, isn't it? I love that stuff and the beauty that goes with it! Thanks for looking, Gregory.
