Artist's Description
I just like experimenting with colored pencils on different types of paper.
I had always wanted to try drawing the Gila monster lizard and after seeing
one in the desert, I knew I had to portray him sizzling in the heat
on top of a rock. The background just seemed to grow around him.
Of course, there needed to be a few cactus plants.
Then, a view of a mountain range,
and finally that searing, hot sun to create the feeling of heat!
