Description
The setting for this peaceful and serene Chapel of The Holy Cross is near Sedona, Arizona, This beautiful church was built into the red rocks and can be seen for several miles on the winding road leading into Sedona. It is the most inspirational place that anyone could visit. The silence within the chapel brings out such a high level of emotion as visitors sit awhile, light a candle, or meditate while contemplating the the gorgeous valley below. The chapel is high on a red rock cliff surrounded by the many formations in the area. Bell Rock is visible from the patio area that circles the church and from inside through the magnificent cross framed windows.
I created this painting using one of my photographs that was taken in the springtime. I took the liberty of adding blooms on the occitillo bushes just for a little more color, even though they probably would not be blooming during the winter season! I felt this would make a great Christmas card .

This is one place I would like to visit, as we have friends who have a time share there and have invited us, but we have not been able to go there yet. This is one beauty of a scenic capture and wondrous painting, Marilyn! LIKED and FAVED
Marilyn Smith replied:
I hope you get a chance to visit here someday soon, Randy! Sedona is one of my favorite places in Arizona. I know you and Carolyn would love the red rocks and the beautiful scenery here. And don't miss Tlquepaque, the village art galleries and shops, right on the Oak Creek in town. Thanks so much for your comments and votes!
