Description
This vibrant little watercolor sketch of male Anna's hummingbirds feeding from the blossoms of an orange Aloe vera plant was painted on a white background to accentuate the brilliance of the birds and the flowers. One hummingbird is perched on the tip of the leaf of the succulent plant and the other two are hovering near the tubular flowers that contain the much-needed nectar for their survival.
The Aloe vera succulent plants grow readily in the Sonoran desert region of Arizona and other southwest states. There are many different species and color variations of these easily grown garden plants.
