Description
This is a portrait of a male Anna's Hummingbird pausing for a brief moment on a lemon leaf while he guards two feeders! Male birds have wonderful red heads that glisten in the sunlight, but appear dark gray in the shadows. When you look closely at his picture, you can also see touches of gold, copper, bronze and green on the feathers that appear red. The hummingbirds have a very green back and tail feathers that are tipped in white and black. These little acrobats are found mostly in the southwest regions of the United States and further south into Mexico.
