This acrylic painting on canvas depicts the river scene of La Crosse, Wisconsin where the iconic "Blue Bridges" were constructed over the Mississippi River. River activities in the area include many tug boats attached to barges transporting products up and down the river. The local paddle boat, the La Crosse Queen, gives tours of the Mississippi River and the Black River from the Riverside Park boat dock. Several large tour paddle boats, such as the Queen of the Mississippi, the American Queen, the American Duchess have scheduled stops at the riverside docks during the summer months.

This black and white version of the view of the widely recognized blue bridges in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is a sunset moment being observed from a dock in the Riverside Park on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi. This couple and their dog are soaking in the beauty of the bridges and the Minnesota bluffs with the lights of the marina and restaurants near the Pettibone Park.
