Description
Along the old, dusty trail, bordered by no-longer used, wooden fence posts entangled with rusty barbed wire there is a colorful display of Arizona desert wildflowers. This view is from the hilltop where the path leads to a desert vista below. Among the pink Parry Penstemon an Anna's hummingbird hovers to catch a bit of nectar. Wild desert sunflowers and purple lupine glow in the morning sunshine while the vibrant blue morning glory wraps itself around the rickety posts. The purple Santa Rita cactus is sprawling on the ground near the papery prickly poppies while tiny yellow warblers perch on the fence. Santa Rita is a species of the Prickly Pear cactus that is readily found in most southwestern desert regions.
