Description
This painting was a commission piece portraying a visit to Monument Valley and it's huge mitten formations. Every time I have been to Monument Valley, the sky has been so blue with the puffy clouds rolling into the distance as if to go to the end of the earth. One cannot imagine the overwhelming size of the "Mittens" and all the other rock formations within this beautiful part of Navajo country until you see it in person. To me, it is one of the most intriguing parts of Arizona's landscape

Thank you John. I was worried about the clouds being rather gawdy but everytime we've been to Monument Valley the sky is just like that. So blue, and the clouds roll on forever.

Marilyn, fantastic painting love the great details and the vibrant colors that you have used in this western feeling painting of the plains. Remarkable detail of the cowboy on his horse with that remarkable sky with those fluffy clouds floating by and those beautiful mountains making up the area.
