Description
This acrylic painting is an imaginary place in my mind but reflects the type of red rocks
and mountain scenery in the high desert areas of Arizona.
I felt this could be two young cowboys taking a morning ride down through the canyon and hesitating by the river long enough to give their horses a drink and letting them rest for a bit.
I picture this as a possible view in the Mogollon Rim in the Coconino National Forest area of Arizona. I wanted to evoke a peaceful, relaxing feeling of a casual ride through the canyon just after the sun came up.
This could be north of the Payson area in the deep wilderness
that is the most awesome beauty in the state.
This could even be near the area where the Western author, Zane Grey,
had his cabin where he created so many great stories.
Your imagination can take you anywhere!

Beautiful painting - the scale is particularly nice and I like the way the light falls here, highlighting the cowboys and the canyon wall.
